Caribe Tankers USA reports that it will trial Inmarsat Maritime’s NexusWave bonded connectivity system on the chemical tankers Caribe Maria and Caribe Luna, to support operational data exchange and improve crew welfare services.
The NexusWave system combines multiple network underlays into a single bonded channel, as part of a managed service designed to maintain performance levels across all available networks, regardless of vessel location.
Caribe Tankers aims to assess the system’s reliability for its business communications while also providing improved connectivity for crew at sea and in port.
“As a 24/7 commercial and operational shipping management company, we understand the importance of being able to communicate at any time to and from the vessels for business demands,” said Jason Holden, Manager, Caribe Tankers USA.
“More importantly, providing crew fast and reliable internet has notably improved productivity on board.”
