NAVTOR reports that it has received flag state approval from Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) for its Digital Logbooks.
The approval adds to a list of endorsements the company has received for the technology from flag states including Panama, Liberia, Marshall Islands, Malta, Cyprus, and Singapore.
The system replaces handwritten entries with connected digital logs available across ship and shore systems. NAVTOR has confirmed that NYK Shipmanagement will begin transitioning its Japan-flagged vessels to the digital system following the regulatory approval.
