Mintra has agreed a deal to acquire Athens-based e-learning provider SQLearn, with the aim of strengthening its position in the Greek maritime market and expanding its digital training portfolio for shipping companies.
SQLearn supplies an online learning management system and a range of STCW-approved courses used on more than 1,000 vessels by around 150 shipping companies. The company supports approximately 50,000 seafarers, having been founded in 2006.
Mintra said the integration of SQLearn’s content and local market knowledge will support its strategy to deliver wider digital workforce services in Greece and internationally, adding to its existing software for crew management, compliance and learning delivery.
“We are proud and excited to welcome SQLearn into the Mintra family,” said Kevin Short, CEO of Mintra.
“We believe that their proven products and local expertise will help us deliver greater value in Greece and beyond, supporting the maritime industry’s urgent need for digital transformation through high-impact training and technology.”
