NAVTOR reports that it has agreed a deal to provide its NavFleet fleet management system free of charge to Redningsselskapet, the Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue, alongside ongoing system delivery and operational support.
The agreement will support the charity’s fleet of 59 rescue vessels, to improve planning, monitoring and vessel utilisation, while also providing greater predictability around mission readiness and potential cost savings through more data-driven decision-making.
The system will also provide access to official ENC charts from Kartverket, the Norwegian Mapping Authority, delivered through NAVTOR’s digital ecosystem. Many Redningsselskapet vessels already use NAVTOR’s NavBox for automated chart updates, with a full fleet rollout planned during the year.
Redningsselskapet carries out close to 10,000 missions annually along the Norwegian coastline.

As an integrated offer this allows RS to deploy resources based on the total picture, quickly planning distances and time usage as missions arise for a new level of predictability and precision, as well as a clear view of when vessels will be back in readiness.”
