Ultranav expands use of AI safety platform across fleet

Ultranav has expanded its collaboration with ShipIn Systems to scale use of its AI safety and navigation risk management system across its operations.

The Chile-based maritime group, which manages more than 400 vessels, is deploying the FleetVision platform to gain earlier visibility into operational risks.

The technology integrates bridge, safety, and technical modules with existing onboard camera systems, using computer vision to analyse video and provide ship and shore teams with information on bridge activity and adherence to onboard safety practices.

The move aims to support improved coordination between vessel crews and shore-based Health, Safety, Quality, Environmental, and Security (HSQES) teams.

During the initial pilot the company observed that the additional visibility provided by technology helped identify patterns earlier and focused attention on higher-risk activities without changing established operating routines.

“The value for us was in how FleetVision supported a more consistent and structured view of operational risk,” said Felipe Alberto Carrillo, Senior Manager and Head of Insurance at Ultranav.

“That visibility helps strengthen risk assessment, supports clearer discussions with operational teams, and improves how risk is managed across the fleet.”
