Mintra has launched an integration between its TrainingPortal learning and competency management system and Norway’s K-REG national digital competence registry, allowing completed training records to be transferred automatically.
The integration removes the need for employers to manually upload course results to K-REG, creating a digital workflow for documenting competence required for offshore travel on the Norwegian continental shelf.
For companies in the maritime, offshore and energy sectors, workforce competency records are a regulatory requirement and are used to demonstrate that personnel hold the qualifications required to work across vessels, offshore installations and other sites.
By linking TrainingPortal directly with K-REG, verified training records are automatically registered in Norway’s official competence registry after course completion, helping to maintain up-to-date workforce records.
“Training is increasingly digital, but many organisations still rely on manual processes to update official competence records,” said Simon Burrows, HSEQ Manager, Mintra.
“This integration is an example of what is possible to close this type of gap. By connecting our learning platform directly with K-REG, we’re helping customers create a seamless process from course completion to official registration, making competence management simpler, more efficient and more reliable.”
K-REG is operated by Sentralregisteret as Norway’s official digital registry for workforce competence, providing a verified record of completed training and qualifications.
“Employers are looking for more efficient ways to document and manage workforce competence without compromising quality or trust,” said Roar Sømoen, Director of Sentralregisteret.
“Integrating directly with Mintra allows completed training to be transferred securely and automatically into K-REG, reducing administration while helping organisations maintain accurate, up-to-date competence records.”
