Gravity Supply Chain Solutions customers are to gain direct access to ocean booking across multiple carriers through an integration with Coneksion’s RAPIDS Common Carrier Layer (CCL).
The connection will allow bookings, confirmations and freight data to be managed through Gravity’s platform rather than through separate carrier connections and portals.
The integration initially covers ocean booking requests and confirmations, with shipping instructions, verified gross mass (VGM) submissions, tracking and other ocean freight data planned for subsequent phases.
The connection currently covers MSC, Maersk, CMA CGM, COSCO, OOCL, Hapag-Lloyd, ONE, Evergreen, HMM, Yang Ming, ZIM and PIL, with additional carriers also available through the same connection.
“We see the order months before anyone sees a container. The gap has always been the handover into booking, where good upstream data gets re-keyed into a carrier portal and slows down. Coneksion closes that gap in one integration rather than one carrier at a time,” said Gravity COO Nick Daly.
“For Gravity’s customers, this also means new ocean carriers can be added quickly, without a separate integration project for each one, so the benefits of direct carrier connectivity reach more customers, more carriers and more trade lanes over time.”
