US-based software firm Nautilus Labs has expanded its operations in Europe with the opening of a new London hub, following on from recent deals to supply its systems to German and French shipping companies and having agreed partnerships with a variety of European maritime technology providers.
The new office, which adds to existing hubs in New York, Singapore and Paris, will be led by a newly hired Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), with Jan Wilhelmsson taking the position having previously worked in a variety of roles at companies including Navig8 Group, Eniram and Wallenius Wilhelmsen.
“It’s always a thrill working with a company experiencing steep growth. In the years ahead we will see the shipping industry go through massive changes driven by new regulations on emission reductions,” he said.
“I’m excited to join Nautilus, as I strongly believe the use of data and artificial intelligence is integral for gradually decarbonising the shipping industry. Having previously commercially operated fleets myself, I know that sustainability and profitability have to go hand in hand. And this is exactly what we’re focusing on with our clients.”
The company says that it has now started recruitment for its team in London, and plans to add new staff across various departments at all of its hubs in the near future.
