A quartet of high-speed pilot tenders under construction by Next Generation Shipyards for the Dutch Pilots Association (Nederlands Loodswezen) are to be outfitted with Sperry Marine bridge systems, following the agreement of a new contract.
The deal follows the successful delivery of similar systems for the pilot boat Mira in 2020.
Nederlands Loodswezen will be provided with twin VisionMaster Net radars, CompassNet heading management, NAVIPILOT 4500 and NAVIGAT 3500 fibre optic gyrocompass systems, with all navigation information accessible via three VisionMaster screens.
All essential systems are to be fully redundant with automatic failover, Sperry notes.
The installation will take advantage of the navigation technology provider’s flexible ECDIS/Conning/Radar all-in-one system, packaged onto integrated monitors and processors and coupled with the company’s Compass network, which combines solid state with classic gyros for positioning on high-speed craft.
