Korean company Seadronix has raised KRW 15 billion (approx. US$11.3 million) in new funding to support the expansion of its AI-powered autonomous navigation technology.

The Series B investment round included new backers LB Investment, KB Investment, and the Korea Development Bank, alongside existing investors Wonik Investment Partners and Lighthouse Combined Investment.

Founded in 2015, Seadronix develops AI-based situational awareness technology for autonomous ship navigation and is a participant in South Korea’s KRW 160 billion (approx. US$110 million) Autonomous Ship Technology Development Project.

The company’s key products include NAVISS, an AI-based navigation support and monitoring system; Rec-SEA, software that upgrades existing vessel cameras with AI capabilities; and AVISS, an AI-powered port management system.

“This investment is not only a recognition of our accumulated competitiveness in AI technologies tailored to the maritime environment and our business achievements but also a commitment to the future of autonomous navigation,” said Park Byeol Teo, CEO of Seadronix.

“With a strong sense of responsibility, we will focus on delivering practical AI solutions that global customers are willing to pay for and lead the way in realising the future of autonomous navigation.”
