Voyager Portal gets new investment from Motion Ventures

Maritime software provider Voyager Portal has secured funding from Singapore-based Motion Ventures to support the further development of its AI-powered platform and expand its footprint in key global markets.

Voyager’s system is used by commodity charterers, traders, and brokers to digitise and automate voyage operations and demurrage processes. The platform aims to reduce administrative workload through a unified digital interface.

The investment will be used to grow Voyager’s engineering, sales, and customer experience teams, with a particular focus on expansion in Singapore, the UK, and Brazil.

New product development will centre on areas such as freight and demurrage forecasting and optimisation, as well as AI-driven data extraction from Charter Party contracts. Voyager also plans to introduce tools for real-time voyage planning and operational management as part of its roadmap.

“We are finding increasingly powerful ways to help our customers leverage data from their contracts, voyage documents, and operations to identify bottom-line savings and reduce risk,” said Matthew Costello, Voyager CEO.

“The current environment is making it increasingly critical for charterers to have data-driven solutions to optimise chartering, operations, and demurrage.”

“Demurrage is one particular place where we are seeing strong growth, but this is just scratching the surface. The funding will help us expand our engineering team and accelerate product development, aiming to fully automate the voyage and demurrage lifecycle.”

Motion Ventures, backed by a range of shipping and logistics stakeholders, recently announced the launch of a $100 million fund to invest in companies focused on digitising and decarbonising the global maritime supply chain.
