PTC partners with Vanguard Tech to improve seafarer safety

Philippine Transmarine Carriers (PTC) has agreed a deal with maritime risk management firm Vanguard Tech to deploy the company’s digital safety platform, becoming the first crewing firm in the country to adopt the technology.

The platform provides real-time threat alerts based on terrestrial and satellite AIS data combined with analytics on risks including conflict, piracy, crime and weather. PTC says the system will strengthen situational awareness and improve decision-making to protect its crews.

“The safety and well-being of our seafarers is our top priority,” said Vivian Cristobal, Chief Operating Officer of PTC Inc.

“This partnership with Vanguard Tech represents a significant leap forward in our ability to protect our crew, no matter where they are in the world.”

“By leveraging Vanguard’s state-of-the-art digital platform and their 24/7 operational support, we can guarantee enhanced situational awareness and a more proactive approach to risk management.”
