ABS opens Saudi Arabia Technology Center

ABS reports that it has opened a new Technology Center in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, to advance research in robotics, AI, and digital technologies for the maritime industry.

The ABS Saudi Arabia Technology Center will focus on developing smart systems and AI-driven solutions to address operational and regulatory challenges. It will also aim to foster collaboration with vessel operators, shipyards, equipment manufacturers, and regulators to co-develop new technologies.

Supported by the Transport General Authority (TGA), the centre will also collaborate with Saudi universities to support workforce development and research partnerships, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

“The launch of the ABS Technology Center in Dammam reflects the Kingdom’s vision to embrace innovation, strengthen safety, and develop future generations of Saudi maritime professionals,” said Yousef Al Dossary, General Manager of Maritime Environment and Safety, TGA.

“Through collaborations like this, Saudi Arabia is reinforcing its leadership role in the global maritime industry.”
