Stromma Group to deploy optimisation system fleet-wide

Cetasol reports that it has agreed an agreement with Stromma Group to implement the iHelm decision-support system across Stromma’s fleet of about 140 passenger vessels operating in European waterways.

Deployment will begin with a significant portion of the fleet receiving installations in 2026, with the deal structured to provide a pathway for the system to be added to the remainder of the fleet in subsequent phases.

Stromma aims to use iHelm to support its operational performance efforts, with a focus on fuel optimisation, vessel health monitoring and long-term asset planning as it digitalises fleet operations.

The system combines onboard guidance tools with cloud-based fleet analytics, providing real-time data on performance, energy use and vessel condition.

“For us at Stromma, sustainability and operational excellence go hand in hand. Partnering with Cetasol allows us to take a major step forward in how we manage our fleet across Europe,” said Björn Hamberg, deputy CEO, Stromma Group.

“iHelm gives our crews and our organisation the insights we need to operate more efficiently, reduce emissions, and make informed decisions about maintenance and the future of our vessels. This agreement marks an important milestone in our digital journey, and we are excited to scale this solution across our operations.”
