Opsealog management completes VC-backed buyout

The management team of French maritime software company Opsealog reports that it has acquired the entire share capital of the company with support from the Impact Ocean Capital fund and Sud Mer Invest.

The strategic carve-out is intended to provide the company with the financial capability to scale internationally and reinforce product innovation through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning models. The firm’s technology is currently deployed on approximately 1,000 vessels worldwide.

The Opsealog platform is designed to analyse onboard operational data to improve efficiency, addressing challenges such as contract performance, vessel invoicing, and fleet utilisation. The company reports that it has helped prevent more than 200,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions over the last decade.

“This moment marks a renewed commitment to combining maritime expertise and digital innovation to improve operational efficiency and accelerate decarbonization worldwide,” said Arnaud Dianoux, founder and CEO of Opsealog.

“This strategic transaction will allow us to scale our commercial development, enhance our solutions, and deliver even greater value to our clients – supporting the maritime industry’s transition toward more efficient and environmentally responsible operations.”
