Port of Rauma to deploy new port management system

The Port of Rauma in Finland has selected Grieg Connect to deliver a new Port Management Information System (PMIS) that will serve as the primary platform for the port’s daily planning, operations, and financial processes, replacing and consolidating its existing tools.

The new system will handle port call management, invoicing, work order coordination, and rental administration. It also includes shift planning, reporting, and a Geographic Information System (GIS) to provide a shared operational map for port activities.

The technology will be integrated with Finnish national and local maritime systems for data sharing purposes.

“Our goal was to find a future-proof system that can modernise our processes and provide better structure and efficiency in daily operations,” said Janne Virta, CEO of the Port of Rauma.

“Grieg Connect was selected based on the functionality of the system, their experience delivering port systems in comparable ports, and their ability to support the delivery locally.”

The project is being delivered in phases, starting with a design stage followed by implementation. The port intends to use the platform to establish a more well-defined foundation for automation and improved data quality.
