BASS Software has released a new version of BASSnet Neo, combining its Maintenance, Procurement, Materials, Projects, Document Management and HSEQ applications into a cloud-native SaaS platform for shipowners and managers.
The company manages the platform’s hosting, security and updates, with the software designed to reduce customers’ IT infrastructure and maintenance requirements. New features include AI-powered search and chat, as well as OCR invoice processing.
The Maintenance application includes standardised maintenance planning aligned with ISO 55001, together with workflow and automation tools.
BASSnet Neo’s Projects application is designed to support dry docking through a dedicated app, while Procurement includes vessel-shore collaboration tools, purchase order-invoice three-way matching, and logistics and shipment tracking.
The Materials application covers stock movement, location management, inventory accuracy and stock consolidation.
HSEQ brings incident reporting, audits, inspections, vetting, risk management, drills, certificate management, meetings, management of change and lessons learned into the platform, with mobile support for offline use.
Document Management centralises documents and standardises related workflows across fleets.
“Modern maritime operations demand connected, data-driven solutions. The new version of BASSnet Neo marks a major step forward, delivering an integrated, future-ready SaaS platform,” said Per Steinar Upsaker, CEO and Managing Director of BASS Software.
“Traditional web-based systems, built on legacy architecture adapted for browser access, can result in slow innovation, cybersecurity risks, increased complexity, and higher costs. BASSnet Neo is different. Purpose-built as cloud-native SaaS, it reduces maintenance overhead in the long term while delivering scalability, security, AI-readiness, and continuous innovation.”
The cloud-native architecture also supports continuous updates and API integrations across the connected applications.
