Evergreen Line launches digital container platform

Container shipping company Evergreen Line has become the latest carrier to expand the range of digital services available to its customers with the launch of a new booking platform called ‘GreenX’.

The GreenX portal is powered by BlueX Trade, a neutral freightech supplier, and allows users to receive instant quotes and book secured space with prioritised equipment supplied by the carrier. The system was soft-launched in January 2020, since which time it has received nearly two thousand sign-ups, the company said.

GreenX is now fully live, and offers free registration to any customers looking to utilise the digital platform to perform route searches or gather instant freight quotes. The service also includes a payment system, and allows VGM (Verified Gross Mass) submissions and Bill of Lading instructions to be delivered online.

In the future, Evergreen says that it intends to further extend its digital capabilities to areas like freight financing, insurance, customs brokerage, trucking and warehousing, to create a fully integrated logistics ecosystem.

GreenX functionality is initially being made available on routes from Asia to North America, Europe, the Mediterranean, Latin America, the Middle East, Australia, South Africa and Intra Asia trade lanes at launch, the company said.
