CIMC to add IoT to reefer containers with Globe Tracker partnership

Container manufacturer CIMC Intelligent Technology reports that it has signed a multi-year partnership agreement with Danish company Globe Tracker to incorporate new reefer tracking and monitoring IoT systems into CIMC products.

Under the partnership, CIMC and Globe Tracker will work together to add IoT devices and sensors to containers, connected to a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform for management of multiple asset types.

Real-time GPS and all relevant reefer data will be available using the system, while users will also have the ability to remotely control aspects of the container’s operation.

“As our industry undergoes the digital transformation from traditional reefer management to digital IoT management, our partnership with Globe Tracker will provide and promote the industry’s best reefer container tracking and monitoring solutions to global customers including ocean liners, 3PLs, beneficial cargo owners (BCOs), and rail operators,” said Hillman Duan, Vice President of International Marketing, CIMC IT.
