Eight LNG carrier vessels owned by Teekay Gas, part of the Teekay Group, are to implement remote support systems from Wärtsilä to provide digital support for the management of their onboard Gas Process Plants.

Under the LNG Support Agreement contract terms, Wärtsilä will provide both remote support and technical support, carrying out analysis of the process plants using its digital OPERIM (Operational Performance Improvement & Monitoring) system.

OPERIM provides data to support performance improvements and drive higher efficiency levels, allowing adjustments to be made taking into account changes in operating conditions.

“Lifecycle support to our customers’ installations is a central pillar in the strategy of Wärtsilä Gas Solutions,” said Rene Christian Olsen, Director Services, Wärtsilä Gas Solutions.

“Agreements such as these are the best way for ensuring that the products, systems and solutions that we deliver are properly maintained, and that their reliability and performance are at the optimal level.”

The eight vessels are covered by two agreements for four vessels each, which were signed in August and September of this year. The agreements took effect one month after their signing and are valid for five years.
