Avikus and ZeroNorth have agreed a partnership to develop a combined system integrating autonomous navigation with real-time vessel and voyage optimisation.
The collaboration will combine Avikus’ Level 2 autonomous navigation system with ZeroNorth’s optimisation platform, with the integrated system expected to offer automatic speed and route adjustments based on real-time data such as weather, fuel consumption, and navigation conditions, while also enabling smart collision avoidance.
The system is designed for both newbuilds and retrofits. Avikus has equipped more than 350 vessels with its navigation systems to date, while ZeroNorth’s platform is in use on approximately 5,500 ships.
