Container line Hapag-Lloyd has entered into a contract agreement with software company Ankeri Solutions for the provision of new tools to support the shipping company’s decarbonisation strategy.
The collaboration agreement between the companies is an extension of an existing relationship, with Ankeri’s technology having already been in use at Hapag-Lloyd since 2018.
The partners aim to expand the use of Ankeri’s software to explore new methods of assessing, optimising and monitoring various aspects of the fleet’s energy efficiency.
“This collaboration marks a significant step in our continuous efforts to reduce the carbon footprint of our fleet and is in line with our goal to become net-zero carbon by 2045,” said Arne Maibohm, Hapag-Lloyd’s Director Decarbonisation.
“By integrating Ankeri’s state-of-the-art digital tools, we aim to contribute meaningfully to more sustainable shipping operations.”
Ankeri’s digital infrastructure systems are used by shipping companies to collect and manage fleet data, improving their capabilities in optimising vessel performance, reducing emissions, and advancing sustainability initiatives.
“We are proud to support Hapag-Lloyd in their commitment to sustainability,” said Ankeri Solutions’ CEO, Kristinn Aspelund.
“Our innovative software solutions are tailored to empower shipping companies to leverage their data in their journey towards decarbonisation. We look forward to working closely with Hapag-Lloyd and contributing to their success in achieving their ambitious environmental goals.”
