Syroco raises €7.5m

Syroco, developer of an AI-powered software platform focused on vessel optimisation, has announced the completion of a €7.5 million Series A funding round, with the new capital to be used to intensify its R&D efforts and to accelerate international commercial deployment.

The funding round was led by French firm alter equity, via its alter equity3PIII fund, alongside Seventure Partners’ Blue Forward fund and other investors.

Syroco’s platform offers optimisation of routes by taking into account weather and sea conditions, utilising a digital twin of the ship to calculate the optimal plan. The suggested route is constantly updated based on any changes in operating conditions, including arrival time, seakeeping, navigation safety and cargo-specific operational parameters.

“Thanks to this round of funding, we will continue our investments in research and development to provide our users with an always more intuitive solution and always more relevant recommendations, in order to reduce the consumption and emissions of their vessels,” said Alex Caizergues, CEO and co-founder of Syroco.

“We will also accelerate the deployment of our global commercial operations in major shipping regions.”
